Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the SMS text messages ROUTEMASTERS exchanges with delivery drivers and merchant operational contacts. They supplement our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Program description

ROUTEMASTERS operates a delivery coordination service. We exchange text messages with delivery drivers assigned to an order and, where a merchant has provided operational contacts, with those contacts.

Recipients can expect the following types of messages:

  • Order and delivery updates — assignment of a delivery, and its pickup, progress, and completion.
  • Account and service notifications — changes affecting a delivery, such as a cancellation, a reassignment, or a schedule change.
  • Customer-care responses — replies from our dispatch team to a question the recipient has texted us about a delivery.

These messages are operational and transactional only. ROUTEMASTERS does not send marketing or promotional text messages, and does not use this program to advertise.

2. How you opt in

Consent to receive these messages is obtained in one of the following ways:

  • At checkout on a merchant's ordering page. Customers ordering from a restaurant that uses ROUTEMASTERS for delivery enter their mobile number and check an unchecked consent box before placing the order. The merchant collects that consent and passes it to ROUTEMASTERS with the delivery request.
  • On our website. By completing the text message sign-up form, entering your mobile number and checking the consent box.
  • During driver or merchant onboarding. The delivery service provider or merchant arranging a delivery collects written or verbal consent from the person before providing their mobile number to ROUTEMASTERS, and is responsible for confirming that consent was given.
  • By texting us first. If you send a text message to one of our published numbers, you consent to receive replies from us about the delivery in question.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase, and is not a condition of working a delivery. No consent box is ever pre-checked.

Required checkout disclosure

Merchants collecting consent at checkout must display the following, next to an unchecked box, before the order is placed:

Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. 3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies. It depends on delivery volume and on how many messages you send us. During an active delivery you may receive several messages; on a day with no assigned deliveries you may receive none.

4. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. ROUTEMASTERS does not charge for these messages, and is not responsible for charges imposed by your mobile carrier. Check your plan for details.

5. Opting out

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages from ROUTEMASTERS. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages, unless you opt in again.

Opting out stops delivery coordination messages to that number, which may limit our ability to coordinate a delivery already in progress.

7. Supported carriers and delivery

Delivery of text messages is not guaranteed. Messages may be delayed or undelivered for reasons outside our control, including carrier filtering, network outages, and device availability. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We transmit text messages through licensed third-party telecommunications providers acting on our behalf. These providers process mobile telephone numbers and message content only as needed to deliver the messages and are not permitted to use that information for their own purposes. Our full Privacy Policy describes how we handle this information.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued participation after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
